Memorable events of 2019! Here comes a whirlwind of happiness and nostalgia.
Grad Trip to Quebec
It was so nice to have one last trip with my graduating class. We’ve been together for the last 4 years, so this was a nice way to wrap up. Although it would’ve been nice to go to Chicago or New York, the people made it worth it 🙂
Trip to England
At the beginning of the year, after I finished all my university applications, my mom decided to book a trip for us to go to London and Nottingham. At the point, I wasn’t really expecting to receive any acceptance letters (I was still jaded from my deferral from MIT haha), and so I was super excited to go on this trip just as a relieve from the application process. It was so nice getting to bond with my mom and just talk about everything. I feel like the year was really stressful so I even though I had been with her everyday, I didn’t really get to really talk with her. So the trip to England was really refreshing.
Omg, everyone was so so pretty dressing up! Our grade had a photo shoot in a nearby garden which was beautiful, and it was just an unforgettable experience. After the party, we had karaoke and it was a lot of fun being able to bond with my friends. I don’t know, I think it kind of marked the end of our high school experience.
It wasn’t the most eventful, but I felt so emotional saying goodbye to all the teachers and friends. We took so so many photos!!
Outdoor trip to Vermont
Right before school started, I attended a pre-orientation program to get to know a few classmates before settling on campus. With a group of 7 other freshman and 2 older upperclassman to be our mentor, we headed on a week long backpacking trip to Vermont. I was definitely full of nervousness and worries for the first few days (being in a new environment and worried about whether or not I could handle hiking up mountains with a 30lb backpack strapped on), and it definitely took a while for this feeling to subside. But we had seen so many amazing views at the top of each peak, star gazed in -0°C temperature, and bonded over PB&J tortilla wraps. It was a trip I would’ve never been able to do alone, and a one in a lifetime experience.
Visits from high-school friends
A few of my friends who went to Brown took and impromptu trip to Boston, and I was so excited to be able to meet up with them for the night. One of my really close friends from University of Toronto also happened to make a trip to Boston, so we hung out for the day around the campus and downtown. It was honesty a lot of fun seeing old faces, and brings in a bit of nostalgia as well.
Harvard Yale Football Game
The iconic football game for our two universities. I got to meet up with a friend that I met during bulldog’s day, and it was really nice. The football game wasn’t the most eventful, but it was nice getting able to hang out with my friends and just talk while strolling around New Haven.
