The Matrix Poster

For those of you who have not been enlightened yet, The Matrix is a science fiction movie that takes place in the future.

It follows Thomas Anderson (played by Keanu Reeves) who is a programmer of a prominent software company during the day. But he takes on the alias of Neo, a skilled hacker. Soon, he finds himself caught between authority and a mysterious figure known as Morpheus.

And eventually, he is confronted with the iconic scene, the red pill or the blue pill, where he makes the choice of learning the truth about the world that he lives in or remaining in ignorant bliss.

This movie is action-filled, suspenseful, and has an ample dose of romance. For a movie made in twenty years ago, the special effects are pretty damn impressive.

I’m not that much of a science fiction fanatic, and was hesitant about watching the movie, but I was absolutely shook. The whole premise is just mindblowing. I can’t delve too deep into it without spoiling it, but all I can say is that after watching it, I have officially been converted.

I feel like this movie gets referenced so often, that sooner or later, you’ll have to watch it. I’m so so glad I got around to it.

  1. The Matrix was very popular when I was still younger but I never got the chance to watch until last year. It’s one of the greatest movies from the genre.
