Santa Clause: A Gift You Received or Want This Year

I never know what I want. Whenever people ask me, I usually draw a blank. So this, time, I’m coming prepared. After researching for an hour, I’ve decided that I want a big fat blanket scarf, like one of those woolen heavy ones.

Mrs. Clause: A Favorite Holiday Treat to Have Every Year

Hmmm, sweets. My favorite holiday treat would be red velvet cheesecakes. I’m always a sucker for cheesecakes and red velvet just looks beautiful. Plus, it’s tasty.

Ghost of Christmas Past: A Holiday Memory from Your Past

My favorite holiday memory from the past was a trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee, where we rented a cabin to celebrated the Christmas week. We hauled over a small Christmas tree (I was literally clueless why we did at first) and on Christmas morning, there was a pile of presents under it! Ever since, the tree has become a Christmas tradition. It was so nice spending Christmas in a cabin with family and friends, and was really my first time fully feeling the Christmas spirit.

Buddy the Elf: A Holiday Song You like to Sing Each Holiday Season

I can’t really sing it, but I love listening to this one:

My guilty pleasure is singing Last Christmas, by Wham!. I know, it’s overplayed (like any Christmas song), but you can’t help but sing along.

Misfit Toys: An Unpopular Toy You Really Wanted to Get One Year

I don’t know whether or not it was unpopular, but I was obsessed with Littlest Pet Shop toys. It was all I would talk about when I was seven years old.

Grinch: A Moment When Your Heart Grew Three Sizes

I remember reading a story about a guy who wanted to visit his mother for the holidays but didn’t have the money to buy a ticket. When the neighborhood heard about his situation, they were quick to begin a FundMe campaign and people all around the country donated money. It was really heartwarming to read about.

Jack Frost: A Tradition You Like to Do Every Winter

I am a movie enthusiast. Thus, it is only natural that I go on at least one movie marathon.

Hero Boy: A Moment You Believed in a Holiday Wish/Miracle

I once spent an afternoon in a flower shop. When my mom got stuck in traffic, I was left stranded in the plaza where I had tutoring. Standing in the cold, the owner of the flower shop nearby saw me and allowed me to come in. There I warmed up surrounded by the colors and scents of carnations, roses, and calla lilies. When there were customers, the owner invited me to go into his workshop to watch him arrange flowers.

Although it wasn’t much, I still remember the excitement and gratitude as a twelve-year-old. To this day, I still go to the flower shop to buy flowers 🙂

Cindy Lou Who: A Favorite Holiday Tradition

I love buying new ornaments and decorating the Christmas tree. It’s always so nice opening the box of year old decorations, each having its own memory attached to it.

Frosty the Snowman: A Memory Involving Snow

Creating a quinzee hut with my grade during a winter excursion we had for a week. We did so many activities (singing, skiing, snowshoeing, treetop trekking in the snow!) and it was such a nice break from the stress of junior year.

Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer: A Holiday Activity You Like Doing

Skiing. I loved skiing when I was a kid, but had to stop for a while because of fencing. Though last year I got to ski and fell in love with the sport again.

Ebenezer Scrooge: “Bah, Humbug!” A Favorite Holiday Saying or Quote

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.” Winston Churchill
